Become a Volunteer

The Association of Irish Riding Clubs is a grass roots organisation catering for equestrian enthusiasts at all levels.

Without the support of volunteers who provide outstanding work, the Association would not be what it is today as its activities could not take place at any level (club, regional or national).

There are many ways to assist at shows held throughout the country depending on the nature of the event but they can include:

  • Call Up Stewards
  • Tack Stewards
  • Safety Stewards
  • Dressage Writing
  • Sheet Collection
  • Arena Party
  • Fence Judge
  • Control & Commentating
  • Starters & Finishers
  • Scorers

Organisers try to keep the roles interesting and rewarding by swapping people around and providing breaks, but this is of course entirely dependent on how many volunteers they manage to recruit.

The best way to get involved is to contact an event near you and offer your help.

A list of upcoming events and contact information is available on the Events Calendar. Don’t be shy, Organiser’s will be more than delighted to receive your call.
