Mary Doyle came through a difficult grand prix to win the Connolly’s Red Mills Masters Series championship last Sunday.

The Mill Road rider didn’t have an easy task as the feature competition at Mullingar Equestrian Centre, Co. Westmeath came down to a nail biting two-way jump-off.

Shelia Murphy wrapped up the Connolly’s Red Mills Masters Series last weekend when she won the league outright after a long campaign which got underway last May.

The Mosstown member held a narrow two point advantage over Raynal Cunningham from Mill Road before heading into the weekend where there were three rounds remaining.

Lawrence Smyth dominated proceedings in the advanced primary division at the Connolly’s Red Mills Masters Series last weekend where he won two of the four classes on offer.

Entries were up slightly on previous years but were low overall at Mullingar Equestrian Centre where a relaxed atmosphere shone through over the two days.
