Doyle claims Connolly’s Red Mills Masters Series grand prix

Mary Doyle came through a difficult grand prix to win the Connolly’s Red Mills Masters Series championship last Sunday.

The Mill Road rider didn’t have an easy task as the feature competition at Mullingar Equestrian Centre, Co. Westmeath came down to a nail biting two-way jump-off.

Shelia Murphy wrapped up the Connolly’s Red Mills Masters Series last weekend when she won the league outright after a long campaign which got underway last May.

The Mosstown member held a narrow two point advantage over Raynal Cunningham from Mill Road before heading into the weekend where there were three rounds remaining.

Lawrence Smyth dominated proceedings in the advanced primary division at the Connolly’s Red Mills Masters Series last weekend where he won two of the four classes on offer.

Entries were up slightly on previous years but were low overall at Mullingar Equestrian Centre where a relaxed atmosphere shone through over the two days.

Squad named for British Riding Clubs Championships

The International Affairs Committee of the Association of Irish Riding Clubs (AIRC) has announced the team which will represent the Association at the British Riding Clubs (BRC) Championships next month.

Greenhills Riding Club will make a return visit to the Lincolnshire Show grounds on 11th September where they will compete against the best of the riding clubs in Britain in the NAF Senior Open Championship.

After 8 qualifiers, 118 places have been secured for the championships at Annaharvey Farm Equestrian Centre, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

Reduced membership fee for remainder of the year

The fee for registering riding members for the remainder of this year is being reduced to €35.

This new rate only applies to membership applications received after 1st September. All other fees remain the same.

Donna Murray stole the show at the Equilibrium sponsored National Dressage Championships last Sunday at Grove near Fethard, Co. Tipperary after a number of stunning performances.

The Dalysgrove member recorded almost 80% in her morning test on Temple Troy giving Murray a comfortable lead over her rivals in the Equilibrium Primary championship.

Narrow win for Killcarrick in Equilibrium team contest

Killcarrick Riding Club recorded a narrow victory in the Equilibrium Team Championship at the Association of Irish Riding Clubs National Dressage Championships last Sunday.

Almost 500 tests were ridden at the championships which took place at Grove near Fethard, Co. Tipperary where just over 1 percent separated the top 3 three teams.
