Close contest at South Leinster team dressage decider

There was a nail-biting finish to the Team Dressage Championship Qualifier at Marlton Stud where less than one percent separated the top three teams.

10 teams competed in the south leinster qualifier along with 60 competitors chasing individual qualification for the finals in Mullingar next month.

In the team competition, Brooke Lodge led at the half way point over Hollybrook, Clonough and Foxborough.

The Brooke Lodge quartet of Kim Mc Cann (Bray Summer Breeze), Rebekah Mc Nally (Ard Eclipse), Sarah Loane (Vigo KWPN) and Deborah Freeland (Diamond Chancer) held their nerve to win the contest by a narrow margin.

Their total of 67.61% kept the Wicklow based club ahead of Foxborough in second place on 67.17%.

Hollybrook claimed third place on 67.14% and took the remaining qualification place for the team championship final in August.
